Melbourne’s a fascinating place. It’s full of arts and culture around every corner. Melbourne’s graffiti filled lane ways is world renowned and one of the most celebrated of them all is Hosier Lane in the CBD. It houses some of the most colourful and well executed urban art you will find around and is also [...]
Most Asian restaurants I’ve been dining at recently have been fast food or close to it. There is one exception, and that’s U-Village in St Kilda. When I was given the chance to dine there as their guest, I was a little unsure as to what to expect, but I was very pleasantly surprised.
Since I started the liquor business I haven’t really had the time to visit the city much so I was enwrapped when I was invited to sample the menu at Sake Restaurant & Bar one summers night a few weeks ago at the newly revamped Hamer Hall at the Arts Centre.
It was not long ago that Yuye and I were discussing just what restaurants Glen Waverley needed. It’s starting to turn into Malaysia town with my favourite Hong Kong style cafe, Star East Cafe, closing not too long ago. What’s opening in its place I hear you ask? Pappa Rich that’s what. I’ve been finding myself at the busy Chapel St junction a lot recently. With David’s just off Chapel and Borsch Vodka & Tears around the corner, our next dining spot was at Lucky Coq which is right on the corner of the intersection for some seriously cheap pizzas and beers.
When the weather is cold, what can be better than chowing down a big hearty plate of Russian inspired goulash or a glass of top notch imported vodka cocktail? The answer is when they go together! On a cold Melbourne evening not so long ago (just last week) that is becoming ever so familiar, Yuye [...]
